2024 NTNA Awards - Nominations Open

We invite you to save the date for the annual NTNA Awards Evening, to be held on Friday, October 25th, 2024, at the Silverdome, Launceston.

We look forward to gathering together to celebrate the achievements across the 2024 Season, recognizing the Midweek Best and Fairest players, Junior Sportsmanship Award recipients, and the exceptional winners of the NTNA Annual Awards. Further event information will be shared soon.

The NTNA invites nominations for the following prestigious NTNA Awards, to recognise and celebrate members of our Association that have made significant contributions to the netball community, with their coaching, umpiring, volunteering and more. Nominations to be submitted by Friday 11th October, 5pm.

Carol Arkley Award

Carol Arkley was a devoted association member with the Seekers Club and NTNA, spending every Saturday at the Netball Centre in roles ranging from player to coach and umpire. An 'A' badged umpire and a founding member of the NTNA Umpires Association, she significantly contributed to umpire development and held various executive roles.

Following the NTNA Umpiring Association’s closure, Carol served as Umpires Convener and was deeply committed to nurturing junior talent. Her legacy is honoured by a trophy named in her memory, awarded to a junior who selflessly supports the Association. Carol's passing was a profound loss to the community.

The recipient of this award is a junior member who has made an outstanding contribution to the Northern Tasmanian Netball Association Inc.

Windermere Award

This accolade celebrates those who have dedicated their time, skills, and passion to advancing netball at a Club, Association and State level, whether through coaching, umpiring, administration or community engagement.

The Windermere Trophy is awarded annually by the Member for Windermere to recognise an individual who has made exceptional contributions to the NTNA and netball in Tasmania through voluntary efforts.

NTNA Encouragement Coaching Award – Junior

This award recognises the outstanding contribution of a Junior coach to the introduction and development of basic skills, getting more people starting, staying and/or succeeding in netball through excellent coaching.

NTNA Encouragement Coaching Award – Senior

This award recognises the outstanding contribution of a Senior coach to the introduction and development of basic skills, getting more people starting, staying and/or succeeding in netball through excellent coaching.

 Maree McCullagh Umpiring Award

Maree was a Primary School teacher at George Town who was instrumental in creating junior teams in the area and motivating juniors to umpire. Maree held a National ‘B’ badge.

Maree passed away in 1996 and her family instigated an award in her legacy for Junior Umpiring which has now been extended to include a Senior Umpiring Award.

The recipient of this award should be an Umpire who has developed and improved their standard and has shown dedication to umpiring.
